HANNAH ISN'T HOME
Hannah Isn't Home is an interactive augmented reality story. The user experiences the story as a detective tasked with going to Hannahs home to document it and ends up uncovering the dark truth behind where she went.
The story uses marker-based augmented reality to unlock elements of the narrative. Certain images scattered around the environment have been loaded into computer vision databases to reveal flashbacks of Hannahs life when scanned using a phone camera.
Problem Statement: Explore how an emerging technology (Augmented Reality) can be employed as a storytelling medium

User Interface
With the intended platform being mobile, it's important to consider early on what the user interface will look like, and how narrative can be enhanced. A case file style was selected to enhance the overall mystery theme, and help immerse the user in the role of the detective which they assume.
This prototype was made using Adobe XD
Pre-visualisation sequence
As part of the pitch, we were asked to submit a one minute video showing consideration for how the sequence will be recorded. I built my previs in Unreal Engine, as I find real-time rendering game engines offer a lot of control as they essentially allow you to virtually film.
Video portraying the user experience of what Hannah Isn't Home would be like in action. This project has been submitted in part to the Vuforia One Million Developers competition to allow me to show my technical achievement in augmented reality to a wider audience.
